  1. Operating Systems

Our interactive sofware programs run under the MSFT Windows XP™ – but NOT the Vista™ or WIN 7 environments. The software WILL NOT run under Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, Windows 98 or 2000, Vista, Windows NT, or on other hospital networks, LANs, WANs or servers. Thus, they are extremely secure.

The CD-ROM programs are not designed to be run from a network server and should be loaded on a stand-alone personal computer [PC] only. Thus, they are extremely stable.

We do not support Apple Macintosh platforms at this time. But, our programs will run well on Macs with VMWARE Fusion for Windows®; or similar cross-platform conversion utility programs. This will also allow you to run the entire universe of other PC programs on your Mac machine.

PS: We have no plans to migrate to Windows 7 at this time. Please be very careful:

  2. Ann and Bill,

    Thank you for that.

I won’t buy a new computer. I can’t find anything with Windows XP other than my computer at work, but I’ll be studying at home.

I will have to go with the VME fusion software. Is that what you call it for Mac computers? Is that a common software program that I could buy from Staples?

  3. Hello Doctor Chaudhry,

    Here is the real deal.

XP machines are selling at a price premium, if you can even find them, because of the VISTA debacle.

So, ask for a XP “downgrade” in a new machine, for a few extra bucks.

PS: Most any computer store should have a Mac-PC bridge utility program. There are many brands.

    Thank You.

  5. OK, Ann

I think you mean like a Windows for Mac program. If you do, then I already have that on the Mac. I was just scared to install it because the instructions don’t specifically say Windows for Mac software and you can only download twice. So, I didn’t want to make a mistake.

I thank you and will let you know if I encounter any problems.
    Take care.

    Sheharyar

  6. Sheharyar,

The instructions also say that you can run it off the CDROM as often as you wish; so don’t worry or be alarmed!

  7. ABLES,

I visited http://www.podiatryprep.com and would like to know how the board preparation software is tailored for specific certification examinations. I represent ABLES, and am considering referring applicants to outside services for board preparation.
